I knew that parenting would be tough and people always say “having a baby changes everything”, but until we brought that little tiny thing through our door, I had no idea what that meant.
After my husband went back to work and the parade of family members died out, I was determined to get out of the house to avoid cabin fever. We had a different mom group to hit up, baby store to waltz around or doctor’s appointment every day (those first couple months, especially with a preemie, you really do have doctor’s appointments ALL THE TIME!).
Everywhere we went and everyone we met had another item to add to my list of things to do. There was story time and baby massage class, tongue tie consultations and lactation support. Each time I learned about a new thing that would be helpful in my pursuit to stay sane, I wished I had known about it sooner.
I started thinking, “man wouldn’t it be great if there was one place I could go and look up all of these things?” One place that told me where to go, what I could do and what to expect when I got there. Then one bright sunny morning I thought, I could do that. I could create a place where moms can come to find all the resources and services that would help them.
