Feature Friday: StrongHer
I can honestly say that these two women have totally changed the way I look at fitness. I was a soccer player, which meant most of my training was running and some basic weight machines. I had never done a hang clean, attempted a pull up or push press until I stumbled upon a StrongHer class while I was (guess) running. And since I started going to their fitness classes, I have seen improvements in my confidence, my strength and most importantly, that spot on your arm where when you wave, it waves back, isn’t waving anymore!
Classes are for ALL fitness levels, and I literally mean all. They have a wide range of abilities and fitness backgrounds that attend classes, and they will break down every movement so you always feel comfortable and confident. Plus, I’ve never been cheered on for a squat or a push up until working out with StrongHer! Your first class is free and they have childcare available, so no excuses, come try one.
StrongHer is doing a FREE 60 day wellness challenge. You can build healthy habits with their weekly goals related to fitness, nutrition and self care. It is the perfect way to start a new year and starts tomorrow! You can find out more and sign up here!

Here’s the Rest of the Interview:
What made you want to start StrongHer?
Strength training, functional fitness, and lifting weights changed our lives – physically and mentally. There is just something so empowering about gripping a barbell, and defying preconceived notions and stigmas. We want to share that feeling & lifestyle with all women
What excites you the most about your work?
When women start to accept, love, and value their body for what it CAN do. We love that moment when a woman realizes just how strong she truly is.
How do you find harmony or balance between being a mom and a business owner?
I love the term harmony. To have all things balanced at all times is challenging. Some days our families need us extra and other days we can pour that extra into our business. We lean on each other often, and when one of us has an extra busy day with family – the other can pick up the extras on the business side. Our partnership is something I’m extremely grateful for.
Tell us about your family.
David and I have been married for 10 years, and have been blessed with two sweet, strong willed daughters. We also have the cutest fur child, Murph. David’s job brought this Canadian family to the mid west 3 years ago. We quickly fell in love with STL and are happy to be planting roots here. Katy is married to Nathan, and they just recently upgraded to a family of 4. Katy is running a business, potty training a toddler, and nursing a newborn. Phew…that tired me out just typing that.
If you could pick anything, what would your super power be?
We already have one! We use our power to empower others 😉
What one piece of advice do you have for a mom that needs your service?
StrongHer isn’t just about taking care of yourself so you can take care of others. Moms, you are worthy of this time because you are human. Self care and working out is not selfish – it’s a necessity. You deserve it.
